Luton Town vs Fulham Matchday Stats Preview
Luton are winless in their last six league games against Fulham (D2 L4), though both draws in that run have been in their last two home meetings with the Cottagers.
Following their 1-0 win in the reverse fixture, Fulham are looking to complete their first league double over Luton since the 1953-54 campaign.
Since their return to the Football League in 2014, Luton have only lost their final league game in one of their nine seasons (W6 D2), going down 3-1 at QPR in 2020-21.
Fulham haven’t won their final league game in any of the last six seasons (D1 L5), since beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 in 2016-17.
Barring a big goal swing between themselves and Nottingham Forest, Luton will be relegated back to the Championship. The Hatters have scored 50 Premier League goals this season – in a 20-team campaign only Middlesbrough (51 in 1996-97), Blackpool (55 in 2010-11) and Leicester (51 in 2022-23) have scored more in a season they were relegated.
Luton have kept just two clean sheets and conceded 81 goals in the Premier League this season – only in 1982-83 have they ever conceded more in a top-flight campaign (84).
Fulham have kept a clean sheet in their last two Premier League away games, having conceded in 12 in a row on the road before this. They’ve not kept a clean sheet in more consecutive top-flight away games since a run of four in November/December 2008.
Despite no team using fewer different players in the Premier League than Fulham this season (25), only Newcastle United (20) have had more different goalscorers than the Cottagers (17, excluding own goals).
No player has created more chances from set play this season than Luton’s Alfie Doughty (42), while only James Ward-Prowse (6) has more such assists than the Hatters full-back (5).
Andreas Pereira has created 84 chances in the Premier League this season, the most on record (since 2003-04) for a Fulham player in a single campaign. He also has seven assists this term, with Simon Davies the last player with more for the Cottagers (8 in 2007-08).
