Burnley vs Nottingham Forest Matchday Stats Preview
Burnley have won six of their last seven home league games against Nottingham Forest (D1), with this the first time they’ve hosted them since a 1-0 win in February 2016.
Nottingham Forest are winless in their last six league games against Burnley (D4 L2) since a 2-0 home win in December 2012.
Having won their final Premier League game in the 2009-10 (4-2 v Spurs) and 2014-15 (1-0 v Aston Villa) campaigns, Burnley have lost each of their last six matches on MD38 in the competition.
Nottingham Forest haven’t won their final league game in any of the last four seasons (D2 L2) since beating Bolton 1-0 in the 2018-19 Championship campaign.
Ignoring any points deductions, Burnley have earned just 42% of their Premier League points in home games this season (10/24), the lowest of any side. They’ve won just twice at home this season (D4 L12), and failure to win here would see them record their fewest home wins ever across a league season.
Burnley have conceded at least once in each of their last 19 Premier League games – they last had a longer run without a league clean sheet between March and September 2011 (20).
Nottingham Forest came from behind to beat already relegated Sheffield United in their last Premier League away match. They’ve not won consecutive top-flight away games since a run of four in March/April 1995, three of which were against sides who were relegated that season.
Nottingham Forest have conceded 23 goals from set piece situations (excluding penalties) in the Premier League this season, only three teams have ever conceded more across a single campaign – Fulham in 2013-14 (28), Tottenham in 2007-08 (26) and West Bromwich Albion in 2010-11 (24).
Though Burnley have lost their final Premier League game in their last six campaigns in the competition, manager Vincent Kompany never lost such a game as a player in eight appearances (W7 D1). Only Harry Kewell (9) played more final day games without ever losing than Kompany.
Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood is Burnley’s highest ever Premier League goalscorer, netting 49 times for the Clarets between 2017 and 2022. He could be the fifth player to score a Premier League goal against Burnley having previously played for them in the competition, after Andre Gray, Danny Ings, Michael Keane and Patrick Bamford.
