Bournemouth vs Brentford Matchday Stats Preview

Bournemouth are winless in their last six league games against Brentford (D2 L4) since a 1-0 win in the Championship in August 2014.

Brentford have kept a clean sheet in their last two away league games against Bournemouth, last doing so in three consecutive visits between 1991 and 1994 in the third tier.

Bournemouth have lost their final home league match in three of the last four seasons, with the exception being a 1-0 win over Millwall in 2021-22. They’d only lost their final home game in three of the previous 33 campaigns before this (W20 D10).

Brentford have won their final away league game in each of the last three seasons, scoring exactly three goals each time – 3-1 v Bristol City in 2020-21, 3-2 v Everton in 2021-22 and 3-1 v Tottenham last season.

Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last six Premier League home games (W4 D2), their joint-longest run without defeat on home soil in the top-flight. Meanwhile, four of their five home losses this term have come against sides starting the day in the top six.

Brentford’s last two Premier League games have seen them lose 1-0 to Everton and draw 0-0 with Fulham. They’ve not failed to score in 3+ consecutive league games since a run of four in March/April 2019.

Brentford have scored 52 Premier League goals this season from an xG of 57.6, meaning they’ve netted close to six goals fewer than their expected goals total would suggest. Only Everton (-13.9) have a bigger difference this term (38 goals, 51.9 xG).

Only Arsenal (16) and Everton (12) have scored more Premier League goals from corners than Bournemouth this season (11). However, the Cherries are one of two teams (along with Fulham) yet to score from a free-kick (either direct or indirect) so far this term.

Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke has opened the scoring in nine different Premier League games so far this season, more than any other player. His goals have also been worth a league-high 15 points for the Cherries this term.

Ivan Toney has failed to score in any of his last 10 Premier League games for Brentford. Only in his first 11 Football League appearances for Northampton in 2013-14 has he failed to find the net in more consecutive league games for a single team.
