Everton vs Brentford Matchday Stats Preview

Everton are looking to complete just their second ever league double over Brentford, previously doing so in the 1952-53 second division.

Having been unbeaten in their first three Premier League games against Everton (W2 D1), Brentford have now lost their last two against the Toffees.

None of the 10 league meetings between Everton and Brentford at Goodison Park have ended in a draw, with the Toffees winning seven of these to the Bees’ three.

Everton have opened the scoring in each of their last four Premier League meetings with Brentford, doing so in the opening 10 minutes of the match on three occasions in that run.

Everton have won all three of their Premier League games in the 5.30pm Saturday kick-off slot this season, including a 3-1 win over Brentford in the reverse fixture. However, all of these games have been away from home, with the Toffees losing their last four Saturday 5.30pm games at Goodison Park.

Brentford have lost five of their last six Premier League games in the Saturday 5.30pm kick-off slot, with the exception being a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest in January.

Brentford have won their last two Premier League games, as many as they had in their previous 18 combined (D4 L12). They last won three in a row in October/November.

Brentford have scored eight goals in their last two Premier League away games, netting five on the road for the first ever time ever in the top-flight last time out at Luton. They’re looking to score 3+ goals in three consecutive away league games for the first time since November 2019 in the Championship.

Bryan Mbeumo has been involved in nine goals in his last 10 Premier League starts (4 goals, 5 assists), while Brentford have won 39% of their league games when the Cameroonian has started this season (7/18), compared to 12.5% when he hasn’t (2/16).

Brentford’s Yoane Wissa has scored five goals in his last five Premier League away games, as many as he had in his previous 29 appearances on the road in the competition.
