Nottingham Forest vs Everton Match Stats Preview

Both Premier League meetings between Nottingham Forest and Everton were drawn last season – the first 10 games between the sides in the competition saw wins for either Forest (4) or Everton (6).

Everton are unbeaten in their last three away league games against Nottingham Forest (W2 D1), since a 3-2 loss in September 1995. They’ve never gone four without defeat at the City Ground before.

Nottingham Forest’s last two league games have both finished in 3-2 defeats. Indeed, since the start of last season they’ve lost more Premier League games while scoring 2+ goals than any other side, with their six such defeats in that time more than they’d suffered in their previous five campaigns in the competition combined (5).

Nottingham Forest’s 3-2 defeat against Brighton last time out at the City Ground ended their eight-game unbeaten run at home in the Premier League (W5 D3). They last lost consecutive such matches in August/September last season (a run of three).

No team has failed to score in more different Premier League matches than Everton this season (6), with the Toffees having the biggest negative difference (-6.6) between goals scored (14) and expected goals (20.6) so far this term.

Everton haven’t lost consecutive Premier League games since their first three matches this season, going down 3-0 against Manchester United last time out. However, they’ve won three of their last four away league games (L1), as many as in their previous 38 on the road.

Only West Ham (7) have scored more headed goals in the Premier League this season than Nottingham Forest (6). Only in 1994-95 (7) have Forest ever scored more headers in a single Premier League campaign.

Having lost two of his first three meetings with Nottingham Forest in all competitions (D1), Everton boss Sean Dyche is now unbeaten in his last seven against them. He’s alternated between either defeat/victory (W3 L2) and a draw (5) in all 10 against them, drawing 2-2 in his last meeting.

Anthony Elanga has scored in each of his last two Premier League appearances and could be the first Nottingham Forest player aged 21 or under to score in three in a row in the competition.

Since Sean Dyche’s arrival, Abdoulaye Doucouré has both scored (9) and been involved in (11) more Premier League goals than any other Everton player. The Malian has scored in five of the Toffees’ last six Premier League victories.
