RB Salzburg vs Inter Milan Match Stats Preview
Internazionale have won all three of their meetings with Salzburg in European competition, beating them over two legs in the 1994 UEFA Cup final and 2-1 last time out in the UEFA Champions League.
Salzburg have only lost one of their last seven home matches against Italian sides in European competition (W4 D2) and have already beaten an Italian opponent at home this year (1-0 v Roma in the UEFA Europa League). However, they are winless in their three games against such opposition in the UEFA Champions League (D1 L2).

Indeed, the only two teams to have beaten Internazionale in the competition since March 2022 are Bayern Munich (twice) and Man City (once).
Internazionale rank third for expected goals in the UEFA Champions League this season (6.7), behind only Barcelona Barcelona (6.8) and Manchester City (10.7). Simone Inzaghi’s side do have the highest average xG per shot in the competition this term (0.15), however.
Since the start of last season, no central midfielder has initiated more shot-ending sequences from open play than Internazionale’s Nicolò Barella in the UEFA Champions League (17). Indeed, only Eduardo Camavinga (36) and Manuel Ugarte (34) have made more tackles than Barella (31) among midfielders in this period.
19-year-old Oscar Gloukh has scored two goals in three games for Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League this season, including one against Internazionale last time out. The only teenagers to score more in a single campaign for the Austrian side in the competition are Karim Adeyemi in 2021-22 (3) and Erling Haaland in 2019-20 (8).
