Alaves vs Real Madrid LaLiga Match

Alaves vs Real Madrid LaLiga Match Preview or Key Statistics 📊

After their 2-1 win in the reverse fixture in LaLiga this season, Alavés could record consecutive league wins against Real Madrid for the first time ever.

Real Madrid have lost just two of their 15 visits to Alavés in LaLiga (W11 D2), the first one coming in March 1931 (2-0) and the other one came when Abelardo Fernández was Alaves manager in October 2018 (1-0).

Real Madrid are unbeaten in their last six LaLiga visits to Basques sides (W5 D1), after losing their previous three such away league games in the competition.

Alavés have won just one of their last 18 LaLiga games against sides from Madrid (D7 L10), precisely against Real Madrid away from home last November (2-1). Their last win at Mendizorrotza against a Madrilean team in the competition was back in October 2018, also against Real Madrid (1-0).

After losing back-to-back LaLiga away games between February-March 2020, Real Madrid have lost just one of their 15 away games in the competition (W9 D5), 4-1 against Valencia in November.

Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio has been directly involved in three goals in his last four appearances in LaLiga (one goal and two assists), after failing to score or assist in any of his previous 12 matches in the competition. However, he is yet to score or assist away from home in this league season.

Real Madrid have only scored 30 goals in 18 LaLiga games in 2020/21, their second worst tally at this stage in the last 14 seasons (26 in 2018/19).

Alavés’ Joselu has scored four goals against Real Madrid in LaLiga, his favourite opponent in the competition, including a goal in the reverse fixture at Alfredo Di Stéfano this season.

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has been involved in eight goals in seven appearances against Alavés in LaLiga (four goals and four assists), but he has failed to score in his three league visits to Mendizorrotza.

Alavés’ Abelardo Fernández has won just one of his six LaLiga managerial games against Real Madrid (D1 L4), but he is unbeaten in his two home league games against them (W1 D1).
