Istanbul Basaksehir and Paris Saint-Germain will meet in a competitive fixture for the first time. It will be the Turkish side's first match against a team from France in European competition.  

Paris Saint-Germain are unbeaten in their last five matches in European competition versus Turkish teams (W4 D1), since a 0-1 defeat away to Galatasaray in December 2000.

Istanbul Basaksehir are looking to avoid becoming only the second Turkish team to lose their first two UEFA Champions League matches, after Bursaspor in 2010/11.  

Paris Saint-Germain have suffered defeats in each of their last two UEFA Champions League games, as many as in their previous 17 games  in the competition (W12 D3).
